What prompted you to run for state government?
I wanted to give back to the community. I see myself as an advocate for the people and I feel that my service in the Senate is a great opportunity for me to put my skills to work for others. I’m looking for ways to make government work better.
Current Interest Issues: Education, school safety, services for people with disabilities and environmental issues
Current Senate Committees:
Sponsored 15 pieces of legislation and Co-Sponsored 43 pieces of legislation in my first year in the General Assembly. Highlights include: standardizing school choice application processes, ending seclusion and restraint in public schools, eliminating the liability cap for oil spill damages.
